Our Company has been certified to the ISO 9001:2008 quality management standards.

Italia Marittima S.p.A. is a Quality-minded shipping company. Reference Values for the whole organisation are: the attention to clients' requirements and to all other interested parties, the nurturing of human resources, the respect of environmental, safety and security and personnel welfare requirements, the responsibility toward the Society, the continual improvement of company's processes.

The involvement and the determination of Top Management in providing resources to comply with the above targets, is proved by the fast increasing business level. The policy of 'zero mistakes' demonstrated to be effective in gaining the loyalty of customers and saving costs. During the recertification audit, effected by DNV in May 2010,ISO standard certification has been renewed in compliance with the latest standard revision, ISO 9001:2008.

14 November 2003

The growing trend and expansion plans of the Company during the last two years, including the launching of new liner services, have allowed the extension of the ISO certification scope also to cover the design and project of containerised liner services. During the third maintenance audit, effected by DNV in August 2003, the organization has been certified as complying with the ISO 9001 standard for the "design and project of intermodal containerised liner services".

1 October 2001

The Italian container shipping line Italia Marittima S.p.A. has taken a major step forward in gearing itself for further expansion. Its management and operational standards have been approved as conforming to the international quality management system standard ISO 9001:2000. The standard, introduced at the end of last year, is designed to ensure that companies focus their management systems on meeting the needs and service requirements of their customers.

The assessment, which was conducted by Det Norske Veritas, specifically relates to Company's business as a "provider of intermodal liner services with full container vessels". The formal presentation of the certificate took place in Trieste at the company's headquarters on 25 September, 2001

Mr Nicola Privato, Operations Manager of Det Norske Veritas Italia, presented a framed copy of the ISO 9001:2000 certificate to Mr Bronson C C Hsieh, Managing Director.

Achieving certification recognises Company's extensive efforts to develop a management system which fully reflects its commitment to customer service, continuous improvement, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Mr Hsieh explained:

“the Company is growing rapidly and if for no other reason that this, we need to be sure that our management procedures are first-class. We need to manage this growth".

“We have always prided ourselves on providing our customers with transportation services of the highest quality. Our core values include integrity, expertise, commercial focus, cost consciousness and a willingness to accept change. As these have never been more important, we had no hesitation in exposing this management philosophy to rigorous third party assessment".
